![]() ![]() Sorry OP, I dont think this can be repaired with homebrew if the menu/browser wont even load. Phoning it in is the only way to talk to a human being ATM. Maybe I’ll try again with another rep, but their chat and ticket systems are still down. I would have Ben nice to finally Be able to finish Smash without any tricks or issue. I double checked to make sure no trace of Smash or the glitch was on the systems memory and figured to kill 2 birds with one stone. So when the chance at a reasonably priced Zelda edition came to pass, I figured why not. (I know we can’t post links, but if you search my name under “the old place,” I made a topic there back then) To be honest, seeing as it was a flash memory issue, I always wondered if formatting my system would have solved the glitch, but was too afraid to risk my old saves and Wii games to do so. Other than that, I had never experienced that glitch with any other Wii U game or download release. In 2014, I called Nintendo, whom told me the only way I could fix it was to send it to them along with $100.īack then, I hadn’t the best income at the time, so I passed, and found a way to circumvent that issue by using an USB stick for Smash Bros only. For some reason, it wouldn’t download the update and sorta lock me out of the game. I didn’t realize that.įor full disclosure, my launch Wii U had a weird glitch on it when it came to SSB. i did this with a Wii once since i had a bricked unit) might also save a bit more if you go for a machine with a broken disc drive and then open up one of yours to replace the disc drive. you can even replace the body with one of yours if the replacement's shell is too beaten up. Seems like the only way to fix this would be a hardmod but at that point buing a cheap console would be more viable (Wii U consoles with no cables or accesories are cheap. I was going to suggest using the disc update of a Wii U game to restore the system but i don't think that'd work if you can't reach the main menu. i also separately made backups of my important saves since there's hombrew apps that let you do manual backups of individual games. ![]() i also have backups of the whole system and all important files. My launch Wii U has had homebrew in it for a while now (just regular Haxchi, no coldboot since it feels risky and regular only loses you like 10 seconds per boot) and i've messed a bit with it and never had a problem. maybe consider buying some lottery tickets, you could hit it big probably. both the glitch in the first Wii U and that system transfer glitch together seem like a 1 in a million thing. ![]()
