Kelly and Collision Course with Linkin Park have been #1 hits. In addition, two collaborative albums, Unfinished Business with R. All of his solo releases since have topped the charts meaning nine of his solo albums have hit the top. Jay-Z’s first album to top the charts was his third release Volume 2…Hard Knock Life in 1998. Fittingly, the achievement takes place the same week the Beatles storm the charts with a full reissue of their British album catalog. He moves one ahead of Elvis Presley to occupy second place on the all-time list behind the Beatles who own 19 #1’s. This puts him at a total of a phenomenal 11 #1 albums. When Billboard’s new album chart comes out tomorrow, Jay-Z will be sitting at the top with very strong first week sales of 476,000 for his new collection The Blueprint 3.
